new guy has mount point issues

Thanks to Mario Vukelic and Cybe R. Wizard, I now have a disk labeled
"80.0 GB Media" on my desktop. Logged in as user "jimmy," I can now read
and write files on that disk.

I opened a terminal window and typed "gksudo nautilus".
I entered my password and Nautilus opened.
I went to /media and found the following folders --

cdrom (which is a shortcut to a folder. why it's there I have no idea)
cdrom0
cdrom1
disk --

I right-clicked disk and got a properties dialog, within which I changed
ownership from "root" to "jimmy," and gave "jimmy" permission to create
and delete files. I also gave "create and delete" permission to the
group named "users" and to "others". I also checked a box that allows
everyone to execute files as programs.
I then closed everything up and rebooted.
Now I find the 80.0 GB Media icon on my desktop, and I can read or write
to it whenever I want. That's great, fellas. Thanks very much.

But I still can't change the mount point, nor can I rename the drive
icon. So what do I still need to know? Aside from everything, that is.
8-)

Thanks again for your help and your patience.

Jimmy
