hardy, and usb drives, does anyone have one that works?

How are they formatted? FAT or FAT32 should mount OK, but if they are
ntfs you will need to install the ntfs tools via synaptic. Are they only
USB, or can you use 1394? I have a Maxtor 160GB pocket drive formatted
as ntfs and after installing the ntfs tools I can copy with a simple
copy and paste.
