Install Ubuntu from Windows

Is there any spyware/virus?

The software is free/open-source, which means that anybody can check the
code, therefore it would be pretty difficult for someone to hide a
spyware/virus within the software, but you should always run all your usual
security checks. As explained above, there is no warranty.

The main attraction for me was the ability to install it without having to
mess with partitions.  If he doesn't like it,  it can be removed like any
other Windoz program.  If he likes then I can move to its own partition or
better yet just remove Vista completely.
