Desktop effects don't work with Gutsy's fglrx driver. This will only
become possible in Hardy, which has the newest fglrx release, which
supports AIGLX (it already works in the alphas). 

It's possible to use compiz in Gutsy with fglrx, but it involves setting
up xserver-xgl
