Linux saved be from all that nasty crashing but it took me a year to
feel at home here. I would NEVER go back, Linux is a great system and
gives you real power once you learn how to use it.

You have 2 choices. You can stay addicted to MS based software or
better you can learn the Linux software that does the same job.

For the addiction you will need to use Wine. I would also recommend
you look into codeweaver. It helps Wine out and is good product if you
need help.

I would recommend that you set up your computer to duel boot for the
first year. With this you can use Linux as much as possible but
running screaming back to MS when you get fed up with all the newness.

I don't know what psp is.

Gimp is the photoshop of Linux and you can load it into windows to see
what it is like.
for 3d work I use Blender3d. This app takes a lot of learning. It also
will run on MS.

I am not a web person but I have heard that Amaya is good and also Quanta plus.
