Right Place?

Dear Fawn

In addition to the good advises others are giving you, I would like to add
only a few things. I perfectly well recognise your feelings with respect to
Windows. I have been working for 10 years with that stuff. Especially in the
last plm. 3 years I had a crash at least once per working day. Windows
shakes and bounces all the time. Compared to that, Linux is an oasis of
stability.

However it may be, I advise you to start using software that runs on both
platforms: e.g. Firefox web browser, Open Office, Thunderbird e-mail client.
For website construction, also 'Joomla!" and 'Gimp' can work on both
platforms. But I do not yet have practical experience with those web page
builders. For 'simple' websites, I still use Open Office.

Additionally, I advise you to try to adopt a kind of software flexibility. I
think you can carry out all the tasks run by 'Dreamweaver'/ Windows also at
the Linux platorm - but probably not necessarily with one software package
only. If you want, I can give you a practical example of this 'software
flexibility' in my experience.

Respectfully Yours,

Bas.
