How does it authenticate?  Does it use the /etc/ppp/chap-secrets or
/etc/pppp/pap-secrets files?  They let you assign a username, password
and ip address to incoming VPN connections using PPP - I wonder if
dialup VPN doesn't use the same mechanism?
