PPP server

I have been searching for information on how to set up a dail in PPP 
connection. The PPP Howto shows how to set up the server with proxyarp 
to assign ip addresses. Since I only have one modem I want to assign a 
static ip when the client dials in. Does anyone know how to do this or 
where I can find more documentation on setting up the PPP server side. 
At this point I can dial in and start ppp so if I can figure out the 
configuration for the server I'll be able to make it work.  If anyone 
can suggest a good book that would be fine too.
