Hi Michael
Thanks for your reply !
Static IP ???
I have NO static IP !!!
There is an WL-MAPR (Wireless Modem - Access Point - (4-port) Router.
The notebook has the 2 mentioned NIC's:
WL Prism 2.5 & wired Intel Pro/100VE
When installing Ubuntu 7.10 I choosed the
Intel Pro / 100VE with IP ending 232 to be setup !
Now it's working with the "double screen icon" in the upper panel
without changing to WL and showing its "bar icon" ...
... and very curiously:
Active Connection Information shows eth0 / wired
with correct NIC info but all the IP's showing 0.0.0.0 !!??
I did not manipulate the entries in the /etc/network/interfaces 0;-)
Finally:
It works but I seem unable to switch between wireless & wired !
How what do I ? A newbie appreciates hints and help ;-)
TIA &cheers, svobi
