NIC Settings for IBM Thinkpad T30 / wired & wireless

Are you sure you need static IP configuration? I have a T30 (though I
recently replaced the prism wireless with an atheros minipci card so I
could get 802.11g speeds). 

I have only loopback setup in /etc/network/interfaces, and network
manager handles both wired and wireless setup.
