Hi, Scott,

Thanks for the link and your help. I changed "/usr/share/vte/termcap/xterm"
file to:

    :am:km:mi:ms:xn:\
    :co#80:it#8:li#40:\

,then the gnome-terminal opened with 80x40 geometry by "Ctrl+Shift+N" key
combination.
