Upgrade to 7.10 from 7.04 via online upgrade

Try creating a new Firefox profile ...
  firefox -ProfileManager
See if the problem persists in the new profile.  If not, copy over your 
bookmarks to the new profile and make it your default.
Let us know what happens.
