I'd recommend making a backup of your home directory, and the /etc dir, and 
installing from scratch. Later you can throw back your personal configs as 
easilly as unpacking whatever means you used for backup. You will probably be 
able to just replace particular /etc files for services you configured 
(firewall, mta, whatever).

Also, this way you don't have to download the unnecessary edgy packages you're 
not going to use.
