Hello

I have removed the old kernel versions(Linux-images 2.6.17-10; 2.6.17-11 generic) using synaptic function.
But I see header versions relating to these versions in the synaptic package list. Can I remove these ones?

  Thanks
  Munip

Best is remove said kernels using synaptic.

Manually, though, you edit menu.lst :

sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

Then save, and :

sudo grub-install hd0

Where hd0 is where grub is (could be sd0 or a different one depending on
the number of hd you have and the ubuntu version - I think hd were named
hd## and that changed to sd## - check your /etc/fstab). Here hd0 is for hda
