Your right, I did do that the log was taken prior to running startx as a
regular user, still
as in the previous post I needed to re-configure xorg.conf via "sudo
dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg"
Now and after installing Xfce4 I have a functioning gutsy system
I should have looked closer at the log I posted I had one as root and
another as a reqular user.
Now I can continue testing what application I have to see what elese besides
ubuntu-desktop is still broken.
I had modified xorg.conf to try and get my web cam working on Feisty Fawn
amd64 it never did work, I hope Gutsy does better with camera drivers. We
shall see.
