Assuming you have both boxes, one solution would be to connect them
( through a switch or a crossover cable) , then use the working connection
on Dapper as gateway. You can do this easily with the Firestarter firewall
front end, which you would install on the working Dapper machine with
the connected modem - you just choose to share the connection to your new
machine.
If you need to dial up from the "other" ( Feisty) machine, you can set up
to run the pon and poff commands remotely, for example with ssh. I used to
do this with a couple of machines here and it worked well.
