That sounds wrong; GNU/Linux doesn't use exe files.  Did you follow the
instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto (or
the equivalent)?

Even if you have trouble with the burning, don't give up.  You can order
a free CD (it will take a while) or buy one with faster shipping.  See
