LOL.  Probably the biggest problem with user-supported software is that you
can get great support as long as you know the question to ask, but
sometimes finding the question is the hardest part.

So if you've got problems with dovecot, ask here or email me - now we're
onto ground I'm much more confident with :-)

Since you imply the problem is with shared folders, I might suggest the
easiest way to deal with those is to just create a new user.  I never did
quite figure out how to make a shared folder with any variety of IMAP, but
if you create user "X" and create a link to that in your email program -
giving both you and your wife the password - then you can easily use that
as a source of shared folders.
