Font rendering help please in Feisty

I forgot to mention the settings under gnome are:

Best Shapes
Resolution DPI: 96
Smoothing: Grayscale
Hinting: Medium
Subpixel Order: RGB

Exactly the same as the other users on this computer, yet 
their fonts appear perfectly normal.
