Palm Pilot no longer connects after upgrade to Edgy [SOLVED]

Thank you for replying.

The Palm Pilot now syncs again! I did the above command, re-installed
J-pilot, and I'm off and running.
I also learned something new. As described here, one has to press
Hotsync on the Palm Pilot *before* pressing the Sync button in the
J-pilot interface.
Before, I usually had to wait about 6 to 10 seconds between pressing the
two Hotync buttons.
But now, it seems if I wait that long, it doesn't work. Now, it works
more reliably if I press the J-Pilot Sync button pretty much right away,
like, one second or so.
Thanks to all who helped me out on this! Your support is much appreciated.
