Try looking into BitlBee. If you use a IRC client, such as irssi or
bitchx, you can run a BitlBee server. You connect to BitlBee via your
IRC client (It's like a normal IRC server), except BitlBee then
connects to AIM/MSN/Yahoo/whatever. So it's like IM chatting via IRC.
It's very useful using ssh+screen also ;-)
