USB audio - anyone used it?

Hullo there.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has used an external USB
audio device to digitise sound (any source, but particularly LPs). I'd
especially like to know the actual device you used, and whether it
worked "out of the box" on Feisty.

By all accounts USB audio should "just work" but a confirming message or
two would be nice :-)
