Maybe you weren't paying attention.

The only "home baked" part of the update procedures was my choice of
repositories.  That's it.  I used the fucking Update Manager.  The only
difference was that instead of going across the interminably slow
"broadband" connection I had it went to disk where I had an rsynched
copy of everything.

Read that again and see if you can comprehend the fucking sentence this
time: "I used the fucking Update Manager".

Feel free to comment again after (or if) you comprehend that sentence.
Otherwise just shut the fuck up.
