I reduced my xorg.conf to a single-monitor version, and things got
slightly better. Now I appear to have DRI again, but the "non power of
two textures" are still missing. If I try to start the beryl window
manager, I get this:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ start
Googling suggests that my only option is to go to Xgl, which I really
don't want to do. :-(
It's a bit disappointing - as is the fact that under Dapper, on the
identical hardware, bzflag ran like a champ, and under feisty it runs
like a dog. I can get it up to speed using the ati driver, but there is
a very annoying speckling effect on distant moving surfaces....
Bummer....
Regards, K.
