A few KDE UI questions

1  Right click in an empty part of the panel and click "Configure panel"
In appearance tab remove tick from "Enable icon mouseover effects"

2  You cant actually minimise all windows as such but you can add an
icon to show desktop by using the "Add applet to panel" in the right
click menu.  You could also of course just switch to another of your 4
virtual desktops available in KDE.  Try doing that in Windows!
