With vim - anything is possible - learning how is the tough part :-)

Vim can do ssh 'natively' without involving kde's fish stuff.
Open gvim and type 
 :e  scp://username@machine//pathToFile.txt for example...
Use below for reading on all the various possible protocols including
ftp, webdav etc.
 :h  netrw
Bookmarks can be aliases in your .bashrc, or .desktop files if you prefer,
or you can browse vim.org for alternatives...
