That is unsupported as far as I know.
Its not advisable to skip releases.
It might be better to upgrade to Dapper Drake 6.06LTS before edgy.
When I upgraded from Breezy to Dapper it kind of screwed my system. X
wouldn't run, even when that ran Gnome failed. In the end I had to
resort to reformatting my partition and using a CD.
So when someone says create a backup, actually do it. Luckily I could
access my files OK.
If you use obscure software its more likely to break. It works for
many many people, but you could just be unlucky.
I shall be removing my alterations to my Xorg config this time, after
it got trashed last time.
In short, it may or may not work.
To increase your likelihood of success, remove any custom hacks to
your config files, remove unneeded software, especially those in
Multiverse and Universe., and backup everything somewhere safe
(preferably removable media).
