Looks like it's not an Edgy problem in my case. The TV card works just
fine on both Dapper and Edgy... just not on THIS motherboard :-/
Also, I experimented a bit further, and it turns out that it's not even
a matter of the TV card... I tried plugging various PCI cards (network
cards, SCSI controllers), in all of the 3 PCI slots, and wow, NONE of
the cards has ever been detected ! :-O
So the issue appears to be more serious than I first thought !

I will promptly return the board to the vendor, and get a different
one, and cross fingers.
