Packages ! get the current ones???

I think the problem with non default packages may be too many
dependencies not being sorted when you install.  A shame I agree, but
not a major disaster.



If you want to, however you can easily install a XXXXXX.deb package by
using

sudo dpkg -install XXXXXX.deb

in the terminal, which is not too taxing surely.



Watch out for error messages telling you about unfullfilled
dependencies; you may be able to sort it by getting them with apt-get
install missing-package.
