Yes I have.  It's not a silly question.  I just remembered to do it today, 
which is why this is coming up now.

menu.lst has entries for both 15-23 and 15.25.  I ran update-grub and rebooted 
and came up in 15-23 again.  Both kernel images are in /boot.

I diffed the menu.lst files for this server and the one that boots correctly 
into 15-25.  Both are identical.  The list of files in /boot are the same 
too.

What's the next step?
