help with X after ATI-install

Hi,

After trying to do an apt-get install fglrx via synaptic, and no 3D 
works, I tried the ATI-installer. Now I can't start some applications as 
OpenOffice.

Anyone been there and got a solution? (tried to change fglrx to ati in 
/etc/X11/xorg.conf, but that didn't quite work as expected (640x480... 
even if I only have 1600x1200 set)
