This has also solved the problem I was having getting the
wireless connection to work on my Dell Inspiron 510m laptop. The
wireless worked fine on an unsecured hotel network, but my home
network uses WPA security, so I was very glad to see Dapper had
the Network Manager to make that easy for me. But it refused to
work, and I could not figure out what to do until I read this
message (and the one it refers to).

One extra note: I had to reboot the machine completely before the
change mentioned above took effect. Logging off and on again
didn't do the job.

Thanks to the helpful folks on this list for getting me one step
closer to moving over to Ubuntu completely. :-)

Cheers, Jean
