As noted 'here' (http://www.gnome.org/~davyd/gnome-2-14/) (http://www.gnome.org/~davyd/gnome-2-14/) Gnome-Terminal has received a lot of attention in Gnome 2.14 and is *-considerably-* faster. Much, if not all, of Dapper's increased speed is down to Gnome as well. -- msandersen
