How to remove the "deinstall ok half-installed" package

Yesterday, I tried to install "expect" package with "apt-get install expect" command.
but, there no such package exists, then I got the "expect" source and tried to
install it. But I failed. I got some error messages after the fail, but I can't remeber what they are.

Today, while I tried to install some other packages, system automatically tried to
remove "expect" package, but failed with the following error messages.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
/usr/bin/locale: /usr/bin/locale: cannot execute binary file
(Reading database ... 90156 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing expect ...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/expect.postrm: line 5: /usr/sbin/ldconfig: cannot execute binary file
dpkg: error processing expect (--remove):
subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 126
Errors were encountered while processing:
 expect
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And everytime I try to use "apt-get install", my system tries to remove "expect" and fails.
I found the package "expect"'s status is "deinstall ok half-installed" from /var/lib/dpkg/status file.

How can I solve this problem??

Thank you everybody!!
