Core Duo has been on the market for quite a while. The next generation
Core 2 Duo "Conroe" chips are about to hit the market in the next week
or the week after. Conroe has gotten an awful lot of people rather
excited. I've been building machines exclusively with AMD chips for
many years, going back to the first Athlons, and I'm seriously looking
at Conroe for my next set of servers.

However, AMD is cutting the prices on many of its chips in half next
week, so we'll see what shakes out...
