Would it be too much trouble to ask you to post the "how" in regard to
this, either directly here or through relevant web link.

A 'howto' for this sort of thing is needed by (what appears to be) a
growing number of people who want to spread the Ubuntu word but are
hamstrung by lack of bandwith to do the updates.
