Mac OS-X uses the sudo model. As far as I can tell, it works just like
Ubuntu's.
In Ubuntu, for GUI tasks,, the user doesn't need to use "sudo" as such,
since (at least in theory <grin>), gksudo pops up and asks for the user's
password.
In addition, sudo is not at all new - it has been widely used in *nix for
many years.
I do agree, though, that the Ubuntu installer should have a BIG RED SCREEN
that no-one can miss, explaining sudo ;-)
That would save us all a lot of repetitive answering... and help people to
understand what is going on.
