Thanks Julio,
I've done a fsck.reiserfs --rebuild-tree and I'm seeing how the machine
goes over the next few days. I'm guessing I had a badly corrupted
Maildir (with thousands of files in it) and this caused part of the
lockup/reboot issue when rsync ran as a cron job and tried to collect
files from that directory.
I know it was rsync as since I've turned off that cron job the machine
hasn't locked up. The next step is to copy the Maildir directory back
from the server and see if that causes a problem. If not then I'll
re-enable the cron job and see what happens then.
Regards Russ
