Dapper (32bit) AMD Lockups

I'm having some problems with my machine running dapper. It keeps
locking up. At first I thought it was RAM related because whenever I ran
a LARGE Rsync job, collecting the file info caused the lockup. Most
recently I got the following errors in my message log:

Can anyone shed any light of this, and if they think it may be related
to playing with beta s/w?
