Network Color Printing Problem

Well, since no one has jumped in with a neat solution, I figured I'd
post the work-around for this problem.
After spending a LONG time on "live chat" with HP.com, the solution was
to use a different printer driver on the client XP computer. Since
printing appears to be working correctly on the linux host for this
printer, I installed a new printer on the XP client pointing at the URL
for the printer (http://boris-ubuntu:631/printers/Officejet-6110). Then
when XP wanted me to pick a driver from its list of printers, I used a
driver for the HP990c printer (previously downloaded from HP.com).
Color printing seems to work now from the client. However, formatting
for previously created documents tend to be messed up....
This problem appears to be due to the HP6110 being an all-in-one
printer/fax/scan/copy machine. It is not a "networked" model, so the
driver doesn't work well with mixed operating systems. I pointed out to
the HP rep that Win2000 and WinXP are different OS, and the printer
worked fine when networked with those OSes. I was also told that HP's
online chat tech support is dedicated to Windows only, not linux
support.....
Maybe this will be helpful to someone else.
