Long boot delay "Mounting Root Filesystem"

Had the same problems on a T60. Worked with kernel 2.6.15-23 but not with 
2.6.15-25 and later (not sure about 2.6.15-24). After installing the newest 
linux kernel today (2.6.15-26-686 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Aug 3 03:13:28 UTC 2006 
i686 GNU/Linux), the delay seems to be gone.
