I assume that the messages are cached in the kernel ring buffer¹ and
it is all written to the log file when that service is up and running,
thereby all the cached data is written at the same time, making the
initial time stamps a bit less useful. The stuff in the square
bracket is when the event actually happened. Me thinks.
I'm going to add a comment to the bug now, and hopefully someone will
figure it out soon.
