Since this thread seems to have degenerated into people talking about 
what desktop environment they use, I am using the hg tip of wmii-3. I 
may well be the only Ubuntu user doing so.

But you can certainly talk about KDE apps here, as well as anything else 
about Ubuntu. One of the nice things about Ubuntu for users is that they 
  appear to be able to ask pretty much anything, anywhere, and usually 
get an answer. The mailing list seems to be particularly good for asking 
more technical questions though - most of my questions on the forums and 
  irc go unanswered, but are answered here.
