Follow-up multi-seat solution

some time ago i asked a question about (a messed up screen after logout)
in a multi-seat setup (1 machine, 2 monitors, 2 keyboards, 2 mice used
independently)

here's a rather new successful approach done and explained by another

that leads to a question :

which usb-keyboards are supported by ubuntu (or linux for that matter) ?
some weeks ago i bought a genius slimstar usb-keyboard and it does not
work properly at all in linux (and freebsd)

google and the linux-hardware-howto don't seem to have an answer to
this question :/
