slow wlan connection on atheros chipset

The 10cm distance notice was meant to be a hint that the signal strength is 
ok, the normal working distance between the two parts is about 5-10 meters.

The bandwidth on the wired ethernet is ok. Befor I had installed ubuntu there 
was a Suse dist on my laptop with a completely satisfing wlan bandwidth. I 
can't explain this behavior to me. The "test under windows" suggestion is no 
choice for me.
