Suspend to Ram on a T40p

I am having the exact same difficulty on a Thinkpad X31. When the
machine comes back from sleep, all is well for a period of 20-30
seconds, and then the hard drive goes nuts and hundreds of
task_out_intr and SectorIdNotFound errors get written to
/var/log/messages. No such thing ever happens if you just boot and let
the machine run w/o putting it to sleep. I would be most grateful if
anyone can provide a means of troubleshooting this.
