I too have this problem but when i did this what i opened was a blank
document.. decided to take the long way to see what happens and the
following msg apeared before opening again a blank document:

(gedit:8839): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:

Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols
specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.

Dont know what to do next... Help?
