Getting frustrated with Ubuntu....

try to remember the time, when you first used windows. you probably used
the installer that came with it or the system was already installed on
you OEM system. you then started using it, learning how the system
works, what the installed files are for, how the applications work, how
system maintenance works..

then, over time, the knowledge of the system increased and you started
doing more advanced things. you could "look under the hood" and start
tweaking the system to your needs without decreasing system stability,
because you now knew, what effects your actions had and what things are
for.

imagine having copied "kernel32.exe" and a bunch of DLLs you found in
the /i386 -directory of you windows-cd to a "/windows" folder of your
newly created ntfs drive. then you would decide to install explorer
"without all the baggage", so you would copy over "explorer.exe" as
well. that might be very "educational" but you might get a little
frustrated about how bad your new system is performing.

i really suggest going from a nice, running system to a
super-tweaked-customized-whatever-you-want-system and not from a mess
to nowhere..
