that message is instructing you to do this:
$ export LANGUAGE="en"
$ export LC_ALL="unset"
$ export LANGUAGE="UTF-8-US"
although, this seems coutnerintuitive as the 3rd set will overwrite the
first. but tahts the gist of it.
