Error when shuting down

Hello!

I have problems with shuting down my computer. When I demand shut
down, (in Sistem, Log off, option "shut down"), my computer does not
shut down, but gets me to the login screen, and even here nothig
works.

I am runing Ubuntu Linux 5.04 : The Hoary Hedgehog Release, to wich I
upgrated from Warthy by changing Warthy with Hoary in Sympatic Package
Manager and then demanding "upgrade all".
